Ada (Grams) Sather, 86, of Great Falls, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 13, 2017 of natural causes at a local care facility. Cremation has been entrusted to Croxford Funeral Home. The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 2:30 PM in the Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home.

Ada was born on March 7, 1930, in Great Falls, MT to parents Emil and Margaret Grams of Power MT. The second oldest of seven kids, Ada grew up on her parents farm in the area of Power, MT where she attended school and spent most of her youth working on the farm.  In her late teens she loved learning to fly a small crop duster and always wanted to get enough hours to get her pilots license. In 1950, at the age of 20, Ada married Leon H. Sather in Great Falls, MT. Together their lives were blessed with five children. Ada gave up working on the farm as her new responsibilities as a dedicated wife and a loving mother took precedence.  Sadly, her husband Leon of 16 years had an untimely passing in 1966.  In Livingston, MT in the year of 1972, she remarried for the last time to her late husband Laverne who also had an untimely death in 1976. Ada worked for a short time as a waitress before spending the last nine years of her working career as a caretaker in several private homes.

Though the life of a homemaker kept her busy and on her toes, Ada still found time to enjoy a variety of hobbies and interests; Nintendo, crocheting, baking, canning, reading, artwork, fishing, camping. She had a green thumb for gardening and everyone loved her enjoyment for making delicious candy.  No one could match her cinnamon rolls and popcorn balls. She always enjoyed challenging her mind with crossword puzzles and “brain games.” But spending time with her children and grandchildren always came first. The love of a mother is never forgotten. Ada will be missed by all who knew her.

Ada is survived in death by her daughter, Lorna (Roger) Lacey; sons, Howard (Linda) Sather, Robert (Colleen) Sather, Art Sather; sisters, Terry Knight, Irene Brackney; brother, Emil Grams Jr; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous and very special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leon, and Laverne; parents, Emil, and Margaret; daughters, Jody Kaye Sather, Carol Jo Tobacco; sisters, Selma Klein, Ester Grams; brother, Arthur Grams, and grandson, Dustin Alan Lacey.
