Betty June Offerdahl, 87, of Great Falls, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 of natural causes at a local care facility. A Memorial Service in honor of her life will be held on Monday, June 27, 11:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Bible Church located at 3400 11th Ave So, in Great Falls. The Graveside Service will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Valier, Mt, following the reception at the church.

Betty was born on October 13, 1928 to parents Walter and Emma Scheel in Conrad, Mt.  She attended school in Valier, graduating from Valier High School and is where she met the love of her life, Vernon Lee Offerdahl, whom she married on May 21, 1948. The happy couple were blessed with one daughter, Lana, and three sons, Kenny, Gary, and Roger.

Betty was heavily involved in her church, enjoying such activities as teaching Sunday School, serving in the nursery, and assisting with yearly vacation bible schools. She also enjoyed a wide array of hobbies like sewing, making beautiful quilts, fishing with her husband Lee, gardening, working on the farm, cooking, cleaning, and making homemade bread for a crew of 30 people. She was one of the hardest working people you could ever find. She was devoted to her husband and kids, and she was a dear friend to everyone who knew her. She was truly blessed having had a wonderful 62 years of marriage before her husband’s untimely death in August of 2010.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Lana (Steve) Hilton of Great Falls; sons, Kenny (Marie) Offerdahl of Valier, Gary (Christine) Offerdahl of Buckley, WA, Roger (Peggy) Offerdahl of Columbia Falls; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lee; brother, Leonard Scheel; sister, Drusilla Struss; parents, Walter and Emma Scheel.
