D’Et Pauline (O’Connor) Otis, 66, of Great Falls, passed away at home on Feb. 8, 2016 after a long battle with M.S. and cancer.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 926 Smelter Ave., Great Falls, MT. A reception will follow at 915 Crescent Dr., Great Falls, MT.

D’Et was born to James and Pauline O’Connor in Poplar, MT on June 25, 1949. She was raised on the family ranch north of Poplar and graduated from Poplar High School in 1967. She attended Billings Business College and was working for an insurance agency in Billings when she met Duane Otis of Silesia, MT. They married on July 7, 1970. They lived in Poplar for several years, and then moved to the Park City area where they raised their three children.

D’Et enjoyed many types of music, and in her younger years, she loved to sing and dance with her children, teaching them the jitterbug. She enjoyed canning produce from their garden, at times over 100 quarts per season. She also enjoyed quilting and make many for family and friends. D’Et and Duane moved to Great Falls in 1991.

D'Et suffered with M.S. most of her adult life, but she never complained and is known for the great smile she always had for everyone.  Although she missed out on many normal life activities, she often said she will more than make up for them when Jehovah God fulfills his promises of a resurrection to a paradise earth, found at John 5:25-29 and Isiah 35:6.

D’Et is survived by her husband Duane of Great Falls; daughter Laura Otis, her children Aspen, Augusta and Nash Rivera of Miles City, MT; son Daniel Otis, his wife Angela, and their children, Cordell Patton and Ashlyn Otis of Great Falls; and son Cody Otis, his wife Shannon, and their son, Aiden Otis of Meridian, ID. She is also survived by her sister, Doreen (Stan) Steen of Clancy, MT; brothers, Douglas (Mary) O’Connor of Clarkston, WA, and Dun (Faith) O’Connor of Poplar, MT; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Pauline O’Connor; and her brother David O’Connor.

The family gives special thanks to D’Et’s home care nurse, Linda Warren, Dr. Kathleen Blair and Dr. Dennis Dietrich, for their many years of exceptional care that certainly extended her life.
