Donald A. Klundt, 75, of Great Falls, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at his home due to complications from cancer. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 20th at 2:00 PM in the Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home.
Born July 28, 1942 in Fargo, ND to Arthur and Clarice Klundt, the family moved to Great Falls where Don graduated from Great Falls High School in 1960. He joined the Montana Air National Guard, serving from 1959 to 1996, when he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. He was a full-time employee of the Air Nation Guard, working in the fire station, radar shop, security police, maintenance control and engine shop.
Don married Alice Culbertson in 1964, in Great Falls, remaining together until their divorce in 1993. He was lucky enough to find love again, marrying Sharon Bender Brass in Great Falls in 1996. Their loved remained strong for 22 years until his death.
Heading into the Bob Marshall Wilderness on horseback, camping and boating with his family, and skiing were Don’s favorite outdoor activities. If he wasn’t playing softball, he loved to coach youth baseball and basketball, and often refereed basketball. He was also active in the Optimist Club in Great Falls.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sharon Klundt, Great Falls; son, Bill (Karmon) Klundt, Bozeman; daughter, Sarah, Kolman, Jenks, OK; step-daughter, Tanya (Chad) Hovland, Great Falls; step-son, Shawn (Ashley) Brass, Vaughn; sister, Carol (Carl) Kangas; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
