Donald Ray Somppi, 68, of Great Falls, MT, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 of natural causes at a local care facility. Per his wishes, no services are being planned. A private family ceremony will take place for the scattering of his ashes at a later date.

Donald was born on March 24, 1948 to parents Arthur and Lucille Somppi in Great Falls, MT, where he grew up and attended Great Falls High. After graduation, he moved to Bozeman to attend MSU. Don spent his career working for the city of Great Falls starting out as an officer for the department of City Park and Recreation, later transitioning into custodial work. In his free time, Don enjoyed being a proud member of the Eagles where he made many lifelong friends.

Don is survived in death by his brother, Charles (Debbie) Somppi of Westby, MT; nephews, Brent (Melanie) Somppi of Scobey, MT, Josh (Kristen) Somppi of Glendive, MT; niece, Hannah, and nephew, Phinneaus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lucille Somppi of Great Falls, MT and his brother, Brian Somppi of Helena, MT.
