Elizabeth “Betty” Willey Quickenden, 91, of Great Falls, passed away December 5, 2016, from natural causes at Peace Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1226 1st Ave. North, Great Falls. A Graveside Service will immediately follow at Highland Cemetery.

Betty was born March 25, 1925 in Kalispell, MT to Oscar and Matilda (Bandel) Johnson. She was raised in the Knees Community, north of Great Falls and graduated from Great Falls High School.

On September 25, 1943, in Great Falls, Betty and John Willey were united in marriage. To their union, four children were born, Marlyn, Cheryl, Shelly and Mel. After John’s passing in 1983, Betty and Bud Quickenden became companions and were joined in marriage.

Betty was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, she belonged to the TOPS Club and the Knees Community Birthday Club. She loved to spend time in the outdoors with her family, grandkids and great-grandkids, fishing and camping. She also shared her love of bowling and sewing with her family.

Our mother, grandmother, and wife will always be missed and never forgotten. She was loved so much by all of us and she truly touched so many lives.

Betty is survived by her loving family, her husband, Bud Quickenden; daughters, Marlyn (Mike) Gersack, Cheryl (Matt) Dalla Mura, and Shelly (Bob) Vernon; son, Mel (Ruby) Willey; sixteen grandchildren, John Blades, Mark Blades, Steve Willey, Jeremy Willey, Melanie Willey Shwartz, Jill Clausen, Jeff Clausen, Jarrid Clausen, Janelle Clausen, Dustin Dalla Mura, Brett Gersack, Bryce Gersack, Tina Newman, Charnel Woerner, James Vernon and Tandi Amezquita; and thirty-two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Willey, Jr.; three sisters; and one brother, who was killed in World War II.
