Emma Meinert passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Peace Hospice due to natural causes. The family had a private entombment for Emma on Wednesday, January 10, 2018.

Emma was born on January 22, 1923 in Fairfield, MT. She was the only daughter of Norwegian homesteaders Halvor and Christine Tordale. She attended schools in Fairfield and Power, MT. She married Ernest “Pat” Meinert of Great Falls, in 1947. Together they enjoyed 60 wonderful years of marriage. Emma worked for various grocery and drug stores and was the produce manager at both Buttrey Food & Drug and Super Save food stores. She also enjoyed photography and for numerous years managed the camera counter at Skaggs Drug Store in the Holiday Village shopping center.

Emma was an avid gardener who grew prize winning flowers. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, knitting and many other activities. She was also an avid walker logging over a mile a day until recent years.

Those who have preceded Emma in death include her parents; two brothers; and her husband, Pat (2007).

She is survived by her two sons, Gary of Spokane, WA, and Jim (Susan) of Great Falls, MT.

Her family has honored her request for no services. Her sons would like to thank the health care workers of the Golden Eagle Plaza and the Beehive Homes of Great Falls for their care of Emma over the last few years.
