Helmut Heinrich Neumann, 81, formerly of Power and Great Falls, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016 in Springfield, MO.  A Visitation will be held on Monday night, May 9th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home.  A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 10th at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Burial with full military honors will take place at Highland Cemetery following the service. 

Born in Kolno, Poland on May 24, 1934 to Amalie and Adolf Neumann Sr, Helmut grew up in Poland, East Germany and West Germany before moving to Power, MT in 1954.  Helmut worked as a cabinet maker for three years, then as a bus driver for the Neuman School for seven years before being drafted into the US Army from July 1956 to March 1959. He farmed and ranched in the Power, MT area from 1954 to 2007.  It was during this time that he married his beloved Agnes Gottschall on April 2, 1966 in Underwood, ND.  On April 2, 2016 they celebrated 50 years together surrounded by family and friends.

Helmut took pride in serving as a volunteer fireman in Vaughn, Neuman, and Sun Prairie Fire Departments for 25 years.  He was also a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Power from 1959 until he moved to Springfield, MO in 2013.

Survivors include daughters, Diane (Dave) Stafford of Springfield, MO, Lisa (Mike) Romig of Great Falls; son, Allen (Karla) Neumann of Great Falls; sister, Alice Giese of Herford, Germany; brother Emil Neumann of Great Falls; grandchildren, Mitchell Romig, Payton Romig, Charlotte Stafford, Taylor Stafford, Dillon Neumann, and Laurel Neumann.

Helmut was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Adolf Neumann Jr., Siegfried Neumann and Julius Neumann.
