Jacob P. Hofer, 83, of Hilltop Colony of Stockett, passed away Friday October 6, 2017 of cancer. Services will be held on Monday October 9, 2017.

Jacob was born on February 26, 1934 in Alberta, Canada to Peter Hofer and Rachel Waldner. He went to school in New Dayton, Alberta and started to work shortly after. He worked as a hog and grain farmer as well as being the colony secretary.

Jacob was good at anything he put his mind to. He especially loved farming as well as his family and friends. He was great as the colony secretary.

Survivors are wife, Mary; daughters, Mary of Pleasant Valley, Justina of Hilltop, and Matilda of Hilltop; sons, Joseph of Great Falls, Peter, Jacob of Pleasant Valley, and Mike of Hilltop; sisters, Susie of Harlowton and Rebecca of Hilltop; brothers, Joseph of Carter, George, and Mike of Choteau; grandparents, Peter and Susie Hofer; 34 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Those who have preceded in death are brothers, Peter, John, David; sisters, Rachel and Susie; grandson, Samuel.
