Joseph “Joe” Ray Rentmeister, 86, of Great Falls, passed away from natural causes on February 16, 2017.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Veterans Affairs.

Joseph was born March 27, 1930 in Logan, Utah to Mitchel and Roxie (Robbins) Rentmeister. He grew up in Snowville, Utah.

In 1951 he married Joanne Irene Pierce, they remained together until 1963.

Joe honorably served our country as a member of the Air Force, retiring in 1971. He then began a 40-year career as an owner/operator driving truck.

He enjoyed his membership at the Vets Club, Post #5590. Joe had an interest in gardening in his free time. He was never shy about sharing his opinion and will be remembered fondly.

Joe is survived by his family, sons, Michael John Rentmeister (Kathy) and Lawrence Ray Rentmeister (Betsy); three grandchildren, Josey, Jason and Megan; two great-grandchildren, Aaron, Kara and one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wallace and Dean Rentmeister; three sisters, Ruby Larson, Loa Yeager and Donna Anderson; an infant daughter; nephew, Randy Yeager; and great-niece, Jamie Hernandez.
