Lance R. Evans, 73, went to Heaven on July 27, 2016. He died from complications from a triple bypass at Benefis Hospital.

A private memorial will be held at the family home in his honor.

Lance was born to Thelma and George Farnsworth as Robert Lance in Price, Utah. To this marriage, was born twelve children. Lance’s parents died when he was two years old. His youngest brother was only eight months old, and got adopted right away, but Lance was in several foster homes until he got adopted at eight years old by Lois and Grant Evans. They changed his name to Lance R. (only). He was raised on a farm, he belonged to 4-H and did some rodeoing. Lance loved horses.

He graduated high school from Lehi High School and attended a semester of college. In 1962, Lance joined the Air Force, faithfully serving our country as a mechanic during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he returned to farm work and became a tire buster, a career he enjoyed for many years.

Lance married Jill Healy in the 1960’s and they had two children, Darcy and Shawn. They later divorced.

On January 10, 1975, Lance married Myrna Jane Ritzschke Dunn. Myrna had four children previously and Lance treated them as his own. They called him Dad from day one. To this marriage, Lane Grant Evans was born. Lance and Myrna had forty-one and a half wonderful years together.

He was talented in many fields and very artistic. He made miniature stage coaches, log cabins and anything western. He loved western movies, especially John Wayne.

Lance was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and a great man. He was kind and no one was a stranger to him. He was always ready to help anyone. He had a close bond with their twelve-year-old black lab, Snoop Dogg. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.

Rest in peace my dear husband.

Lance is survived by his loving family, wife, Myrna Jane Ritzschke Dunn Evans; daughter, Darcy Larson; stepdaughter, Michele Phoenix; sons, Shaun (Kerin) Darbro, Lane Grant (Erika) Evans; stepsons, Merle (Virginia) Dunn, Mark Dunn, Mitchell Dunn; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Velva; brothers, Ernest Farnsworth, Lonnie Farnsworth, Dell Alvin Farnsworth.
