Leroy “Roy” Wayne Norris, 82, of Simms, MT, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016, at a local care facility in Great Falls. A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, September 19, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Norris residence located at 12778 Hwy 200, Simms, MT.

Roy was born on May 2, 1934, to parents Garnett and Gertie Norris in Missoula, MT. The family later moved to Kalispel where he attended school. Later in life Roy moved to Simms where he met Marilyn Hutton at the Fireside Inn. It was love at first sight. They married on July 29, 2000, both bringing children from previous marriages and creating one large, blended family.

Roy started working early in his teens as a carpenter. He continued this trade throughout his life travelling through several states until his retirement. Roy loved fishing in the creeks throughout Washington and Montana. His very favorite place was at the Tacoma Creek in Washington where his ashes will be later spread so that he may rest there for eternity. When he wasn’t fishing, he loved watching old westerns, spending time with his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A father, devoted husband to Marilyn, and dear friend to all who knew him, Roy will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn of 16 wonderful years, several children, 23 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents and by all of his siblings.
