Margaret (Maggie) Vivian Gunnarson, 57, of Great Falls, passed away in her sleep at a local care facility, on August 10, 2017. Margaret was born in Superior, Montana, the sixth of seven children to George and Lois Bird. She spent her childhood in Harlowton, Montana. She then spent her teenage years in Great Falls before moving to Seattle. Over the next two decades Margaret spent her time traveling across America. In her life, Margaret chose to leave her mark working with the handicapped. She later focused on the culinary arts. After her children were grown she returned home to Great Falls, where she met her soul mate, Paul Gunnarson, they wed in 2004.

Margaret enjoyed the outdoors and the beauty Montana had to offer. She was also very creative, her hobbies included quilting, and crocheting. She was happiest when in the kitchen, her joy in the kitchen was only matched by her love of music.

No services are planned, but her ashes will be spread across America by her family and friends, the majority being spread in Louisiana, her favorite place. She will be remembered for her big heart, loving nature, and her sense of adventure.

Margaret is survived by her granddaughter, Sydney Bird; two sons, Stuart and Shaun Bird; two sisters, Alice Rabenau of Alabama, Thelma Kerzmann of North Dakota; One brother, Gerry Bird of North Carolina.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Paul Gunnarson; her sisters, Bobbi Hansen and Geogia Opendak; her brother, Charlie Bird.
