Marie Doreen Wallace, a business owner and homemaker from Fairfield, passed away at the age of 81, on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Peace Hospice Home after a six-year battle with cancer.  A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 10 AM at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Fairfield, MT. 

Lucy and Faltin Kolste welcomed Marie into this world on July 8, 1935 in Choteau, MT.  She was raised in Fairfield, and graduated from the local high school there.  In 1953, she married the love of her life, Alvin Wallace and together they raised four wonderful children.

Marie loved tending to the flowers in her garden, and enjoyed being in the kitchen baking her Norwegian recipes.

She is survived by her loving husband, Alvin; daughters, Lorraine Blanchet of Billings and Arlene Wallace of Fairfield; sons, Roger Wallace of Absarokee and David Wallace of Fairfield; brothers, Lester Kolste of Belgrade, Russell Kolste and Paul Kolste, both of Fairfield; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Margaret Paddock.
