Martin J. Wipf, 65, of New Miami Colony died of cancer Monday after a brief illness.

Known to all as a German school teacher and school board member for 19 years, he was also the poultry and egg man. Martin enjoyed staying busy; taking care of the honeybees and garden were two of his greatest pastimes in his younger years. He was also a family man whom his family and grandkids were fond of.

Laying down the golden rule was his philosophy, and was carried on through all he mentored. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth of 32 years; both parents, Jacob and Mary; brother, Jake (Dorothy); sister, Anna.

Surviving are his children; daughter, Lora (Jess) of Harlowtown; sons, Mark (Judy), Tom (Judy), Chris (Diana), and Jeffrey of New Miami; 13 granddaughters and two grandsons; brothers, David (Mary), Mike (Justina), Dan (Justina), Willy of New Miami; sister, Mary (Jake) of Birch Creek, Martha (Leonard) of Sask, brother-in-law, Will (Treasa) of New Miami, and Tom Wurz of Bobcat, N.D.

Rest in peace dear dad, till we meet again.
