Maxine L. Carroll

January 1, 1933 ~ February 2, 2016 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Maxine L. Carroll, 83, of Great Falls, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 of natural causes.  A Memorial Service will be held Friday, February 5th at 11:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 332 Riverview 3 W, Great Falls, MT.

Born in Belt, Montana on January 1, 1933, “Max” was raised on the family ranch in the Little Belts.  She graduated from high school at Great Falls High in 1950.  She met Richard (Pat) Carroll in Great Falls and they married on July 5, 1952.

Max worked for Burlington Northern Federal Credit Union , which later became First Liberty Credit Union, for 29 years, retiring in 1989.  She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, sang in the choir, and belonged to the DOES, where she took much enjoyment spending time with her friends.  She also had many special times spent with Bob and Tootsie Gardner.

She and Pat spent 22 years wintering in Arizona, traveling to many places and taking cruises: visiting Alaska, the Bahamas, the Mexican Riviera and the Panama Canal.  They spent time visiting Pat’s family in Boston, and were lucky enough to have their last trip be to Ireland, with daughters, Donna and Laurie, where they were able to look up Pat’s relatives.

Max is survived by her daughter, Donna (Chuck) Abrams, Baker, MT; son, Mike Carroll, Great Falls; brothers, Marvin and John Koskela; sister, Bernice Skinner;  nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pat; parents; a sister; children, Laurie and Rick.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Maxine Carroll to Alzheimers, Mc Laughlin Research Institute, 1520 23rd St S, Great Falls, MT 59405.
