Right after high school Mike joined the United States Army proudly served from 1975 to 1978, having spent two of those years in Germany. Later in life he met who would become his second wife, Rita Mee. They married on March 17, 2006 and remained happily settled for five years until they’re separation of divorce in 2011.

Above all else, Mike was an outdoorsman; having a true passion for hunting and fishing with many fond memories of time spent with his son Rick and cousin Jack Myllymaki.
