Roger William Volkmar, 81, of Great Falls, MT, passed away December 11, 2017 at Peace Hospice of natural causes. There will not be a service but a gathering of family and friends at the Amigo Lounge – 4pm on Thursday December 14, 2017

Roger William Volkmar was born in Colby, Wisconsin on September 26 1936 on his grandfathers farm to Oscar Volkmar and Helen (Brenner) Volkmar. He received his education in Wisconsin before moving to Montana to help his aunt and uncle Art & Dorthy Suckaw, with the farm.

Roger served in the Air National Guard, and married the love of his life, Janice Stinson in Great Falls, MT in 1961. They were blessed with two sons.

He farmed on his own farm and worked at several other farms in the area.
Roger liked going hunting. He drew joy from getting out fishing with his wife. He loved to spend time with his five grandchildren and became versed in wood and leather working. 
He is survived by his wife, Janice; sons Patrick (Jennifer) & Paul (Kim); sisters, Joyce Gower and Judy Volkmar; brothers, Howard Volkmar and five grandchildren, Laci (Williston ND), Zachary (Grand Forks, ND), Kasey (Missoula, MT) & Mckayla and Madison (Billings, MT). 
Roger was preceded by his parents Oscar & Helen Volkmar.
