Ross Donald Peace, 95, of Fairfield, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017 of natural causes at a local care facility. Cremation has been entrusted to Croxford Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, May 6, at 11:00 AM, held at the United Church of Christ in Fairfield. A private family burial will take place earlier that day.

Ross was born on August 15, 1921 to parents James William and Adelia Adeline Peace in Big Sandy, MT. After graduating from Polson High School in 1939, he later served two years in the United States Navy with a tour of duty during WWII. Upon returning home to Montana, he attended MSU, graduating in 1948 with a degree in Agronomy. In 1951, Ross married who would be the love of his life, Myrna Meyer, with whom they’re lives were blessed with five children. Ross spent his working career as an Agronomist, consulting with various agricultural companies. He proudly spent his free time serving the community, caring for friends and family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and dear friend to all who knew him.

Ross truly enjoyed serving his community.  He was on the Church Board, a member of the Fairfield Lions Club, elected to the Greenfield and Fairfield School Boards, served on the Board at the Senior Center, assisted with the Fairfield Community Hall Fundraising, and worked as a Secretary for many farm organizations.

He is survived in death by his wife of 65 years, Myrna Peace; daughter, Colleen Hart of Colville, WA; sons, Ron (Deb), Rodney, Alan, all of Fairfield, MT, and Steve (Steph) of Whitefish, MT; brothers, Earl (Jan) Peace of Bozeman, MT; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ross is preceded in death by his parents, James and Adelia Peace; daughter, Cerena; brother, James; and sister, Irene.
