Vera Ann Larsen, 69, of Great Falls, passed away June 7, 2017. Visitaion will be at 9:00 AM Monday, June 12 at Croxford Funeral Home in The Rose Room Chapel. A Funeral service will be held immediately after at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at Malta Cemetery.

Vera was born on November 10, 1947 in Glasgow, MT to Marius and Hazel (Young) Larsen. Malta was always considered home for Vera, having met her spouse James Shortman there and started her nursing career as a CNA at the Malta Nursing Home. While in Malta she was actively involved in the Central Assembly of God Church, leading to a lifelong love of Christ that stayed with her until she “went home” on the 7th.  When unable to attend church anymore she would study the bible at the Hosanna House.

An artist would be one way of describing our beloved Vera. She loved her crafts, such as sewing, crocheting and even ceramics. All of which are now cherished by her adoring family. A true Jewel in the crown of the human race, she will be missed by all the lives she has touched.

Survivors are her daughters, Dessa Lee and Cassandra Jo Shortman, both of Great Falls; brothers, Leslie of Libby, Russell of Wilsaw, Jerry of Hinsdale, Rodeney of Glasgow; sisters, Virginia E. Fewer of Malta, Jeannette Rosencrans of Newton, KS, Elaine Lundstrom of Ellensburg, WA; grandchildren, Vincent Oppelt, Dakota Shortman, Jacy Oppelt, Drew Shortman, Tia Frey, Atlas (Johnny) Wiench and 3 Great-Grandchildren.

Those that have preceded Vera in death include her parents; her spouse, James Frederic Shortman; sister, Arabelle McMullen.
