Avis Marcia (Roberson) Johnson

Avis Marcia Johnson passed away on July 28, 2018 at home, surrounded by her loving family.  A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 8th at 2:00 PM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5300 9th Ave. South. A Reception will follow the Service, then Burial will take place at Craig Cemetery.

Avis was born May 6, 1948 at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND to Harry Roberson and Buryl Craven Roberson.  Her father died when she was 8 years old and she was raised by Buryl and Ernest Doehle. She graduated from Bismarck High and was married to Larry Benefiet.  They had two sons, Martin Ray Benefiet and Daniel James Benefiet.

Avis moved to Great Falls in the early seventies and worked at Jardine, Stephenson, Blewett and Weaver law firm for 38 years.  She and her husband, Collins (C.J.) Johnson enjoyed traveling with and without grandchildren.  She loved her “house on the river”, her yard and flowers.  Avis had the best smile and the biggest heart.  She always enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and loved having big family dinners at her house.  She spent many hours researching her ancestry and family history.

Survivors include her husband, C.J.; sons, Martin Benefiet and Daniel (Tracie) Benefiet; stepson, Kirk Johnson; granddaughters, Ashley, Kristin, Taylor, Nevaeh, Brianna, Angeliece, Natalie; grandsons, Tony, Daniel, Nathaniel, Isaiah, Levi; sister, Melody (Patrick) Neely; brothers, Jim (Joan) Roberson, Del Ray Roberson and Harold Roberson; numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends.
