Barbara Jane (Asdell) Wiens

Barbara Jane Wiens, 88, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Peace Hospice in Great Falls, MT.

Barbara was born April 8, 1930, the first of four children born to the late David and Lena Asdell.

Barbara married George Allen Wiens on May 28, 1955 in San Jose, CA. They raised four children, Debbie, David, Beth and Lori.

When they retired in 1994, Barbara and George moved to Great Falls and joined Valley Community Bible Church. Barbara was active in church activities until health issues made getting around difficult.

Barbara loved reading her Bible, knitting, cross-stitching, and jigsaw puzzles, as well as spending time with her family, laughing, smiling, and listening to hymns and gospel music.  She was a devoted wife, a loving and caring Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Sister, always thinking of others first and continually praying for them. 

Barbara is survived by husband, George; children: Debbie Wiens, David Wiens, Beth Stoddard, and Lori Wiens; grandchildren: Jamie (Mike) Moyer, Tim (Pam) Stoddard, Melissa (David) Zinzilieta; and great-granddaughter, Aurora; brother Jim (Sharon) Asdell  of Idaho; sister, Mary (Bob) Zach of Idaho, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

As she left us, she met in heaven by her parents, sister Betty Cowley, and the many friends and relatives who went before her.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held later in the summer.
