Bonnie Delight (Stark) McDaniel

Bonnie D. McDaniel, 87, of Great Falls, passed most peacefully from natural causes March 18, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 24 at 1:00 PM at Croxford Funeral Home in the Rose Room Chapel, with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery.
Bonnie Delight Stark was born January 12, 1931 at the Block P Mine Hospital in Hughesville, Montana. She was the only child born to Bun and Edith (McLaughlin) Stark. In 1933 the family moved to Neihart where Bonnie attended grade school, graduating from Neihart High School in 1948.
Out of high school, Bonnie took advantage of a training-work program becoming a dental assistant and lab technician with Doctor's Cogley, Flynn & Cory in Great Falls, with whom she was employed for four years.
In 1946, Bonnie met Duane (Dewey) McDaniel in White Sulphur Springs and they were married on May 17, 1952. Dewey was drafted for military service on June 1st, 1952 and served two years in the service. All stateside, they lived at Fort Lewis, WA, Camp Roberts, CA, and The Presidio of San Francisco, returning to Neihart in mid-June 1954.
They built a home at Neihart in 1954-55 and expanded the family with the birth of two sons, Randy in 1954 and Rickey in 1958.
Bonnie loved living in Neihart. She was very active within the community, serving as the Clerk & Treasurer for the Town of Neihart for 21 years, served on the Neihart School Board and as a volunteer for many committees. She was the bookkeeper for McDaniel & Sons Contractors for 23 years, a caregiver for her parents for 18 years and again a bookkeeper for Sierra Rock & Dirt Inc. for 12 years during her retirement.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Dewey of almost 66 years; sons, Randy (Becky) and Rick; grandsons, Colten, Cody and Caden, plus special "daughters", Linda McDaniel and Renee (Mark) Kapp, special relatives and friends galore, too many to mention. Extra special thanks to the staff and doctors at the Benefis East View Care Facility.
