On Wednesday, February 20, 2019 we lost our loving father, brother and son, Bruce Allyn Hadley, 62, of Fairfield. A Visitation will be held Monday, February 25th at 10:00 AM with the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fairfield with Burial to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Born on October 16, 1956 in Choteau, MT to Don and Verda King Hadley, Bruce attended the local schools, graduating from Fairfield High School in 1974. He was married for a time, but it ended in divorce. One of the greatest joys of his life was the birth of his daughter, Shyla Raye in 1998.
Bruce was a sheet metal worker and crew foreman in sheet metal construction. He lived in Salem, Oregon for 30 years, returning home to his beloved Montana. Settling in Fairfield, he served as caregiver for his mother. He loved watching the Fairfield Eagles’ sports and playing pool with his friends and family. One of his great loves of his life was fly fishing. Only a select few knew of his secret spots along Willow Creek and the Sun River. Bruce liked old westerns like Gunsmoke and anything with John Wayne in it. An accomplished trumpet player, he played “Taps” at memorial services. A wonderful and thoughtful friend to many, Bruce loved to drive around every day to visit, help and encourage his friends.
Survivors include his mother, Verda Hadley Bell; daughter, Shyla Raye Hadley Butler; sisters, Diane (Jim) Blossom, Laraine (Tim) Kolste, René Hadley; brothers, Brent (Kathy) Hadley, Roger (Bonnie) Hadley, Jim (Theresa) Hadley, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Don O. Hadley.
