Bryan MacGillivray Obituary

Bryan Don MacGillivray, 87, of Ulm passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018.  A Memorial Service will be held this Sunday, June 3rd at 1:00 PM at Christ United Methodist Church. 

Bryan was born November 28, 1930 to Hix and Alice MacGillivray in Hanna, Alberta.  When he was a young child he moved to Nampa, ID.  During high school he called railroad crews from midnight to eight a.m. for the Union Pacific Railroad.  After he graduated from high school he worked as Telegrapher for the Union Pacific Railroad for two years.  He then joined the Navy and was a telegraph operator on an LST for the duration of the Korean War.  After his service he enrolled in Idaho State studying Electronics.  While he was in school he met Dee Nanson and they were married in 1957.  Upon his completion of his schooling they moved to Billings, MT where he worked for Cook T.V.  In 1959 he went to work for the Federal Aviation Administration at the Great Falls airport.  He worked for them until he retired in 1986.  During this time he built their home in Ulm where he resided for almost 60 years.  He had a great love of horses, was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He also was an avid wood carver.  He spent many hours carving horses which he shared with friends and family.

He belonged to the Mason’s, Scottish Rite, Eastern Star and was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Dee, sons Barry (Jill) and Brooke (Sherry).  Grandchildren Bryan (Jana), Shaylar, Jaydan and Skylar.  He is also survived by his brother Buck (Donna).  He was preceded in death by his Sister Marjorie.

Due to a family member that has severe respiratory issues please do not send flowers or wear perfume to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ United Methodist Church or FISH.
