On Tuesday, April 10, 2018, we said our last goodbyes to our husband, father, grandfather, Chris K. Johnson, 61, of Great Falls. His Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, April 17th at 11:00 AM at Manchester Cemetery.
Born in Rugby, North Dakota to Walter and Ruby Johnson, Chris moved to Great Falls at the age of fourteen. He graduated from CMR in 1976, joining the Army soon after. He was stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, MS, Fort Lewis, WA and Aschaffenburg, Germany as a heavy equipment operator. He was very proud of the tour he served in the Persian Gulf War.
After the Army, Chris moved back to Great Falls and became a self-employed carpenter. He met his true love, Denise Bartle, marrying her May 3, 1984, and they were together until his death. Chris loved anything he could build, including sheds. A proud veteran, he belonged to the Westside VFW. He loved being outdoors, watching westerns and historical documentaries on TV, and drinking beer, laughing and talking with his friends. He loved his grandkids, talking politics with Ayden and cuddling with his cuddle bug, Savanah.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Denise; daughter, Lisa Cheary; sons, Christopher Miller and Lance Johnson; grandchildren, Savanah and Ayden Cheary. He was preceded in death by his parents.
