Debbra Moore Obituary

Debbra Kay Ecklund Moore went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 21st, 2019.

Debbra (Debbie) Kay Ecklund was born April 8th, 1956 in Pierre, SD to Edward Alvin Ecklund and Mary Jean Olesen Ecklund. She was Daddy’s Special Little Girl. Since Edward was a ranch hand, they lived on the ranch until Debbie was 4 years old. After moving to Ft. Pierre, SD, her father attended school and became a certified iron worker welder. Debbie’s school days began in Ft. Pierre and Huron, SD. Then, the little family of three moved to Ft. Smith, MT where her dad worked on the Yellowtail Dam. Two years later, Debbie moved with her family to Conrad, MT and then Ulm, MT, while Dad worked on the Missile Sites around Great Falls. She attended school in Great Falls through the 8th grade; she then enrolled in Cascade High School and became a Cascade Badger Cheerleader. Debbie sewed her own cheerleading outfit. Mom, Mary, attended every game to watch her cheerleading.

At 18, Debbie fell in love with Andrew Rosin, a good-looking young man. They made such a cute couple, and were married on February 15, 1975. Brenda Jean was born, and fourteen months later Andrew, Jr. was born, followed by Edward Jean. Then, sadly, Andrew and Debbie divorced.

Later she met and married Mike Coté. They had 3 children together: Mike, Jr., Joe, and finally, Lucas. Subsequently, Debbie and Mike divorced.

Debbie then married James Baker, the love of her life. He was a wonderful husband and great father to the two teenage boys still in the home, Eddie and Lucas. Unfortunately, James died from brain cancer.

Debbie was such a bubbly person, always smiling. She never met a stranger. She loved people and animals. She had such a unique and contagious laugh. People were uplifted wherever Debbie went.

Over the past 10 years, Debbie and her son, Lucas, faithfully served the Mercy Ministry at Vineyard Church. Every Saturday morning they arrived early to cook and serve a hot meal for 40 – 100 people who came to the food pantry for assistance. Debbie loved on each person who arrived.

Memories shared:

Debbie’s mother remembers that on so many shopping trips with her, Mary felt so special when Debbie called to her many friends, “Hi! Have you met my mom, Mary?”

Son Edward recalls how Debbie made all holidays so special for them.

Son Lucas remembers the great love his Mom had for animals. She wanted to take home every animal she saw.

Debbie, we all miss you so much! And yet we are thankful knowing we will see you again one day. Oh, what a joyful day that will be!

Debbie’s surviving relatives are: mother, Mary Olesen Ecklund of Ulm, MT; daughter, Brenda Rosin of Butte, MT; son Andrew Rosin, Jr., of Eastlake, OH; sons Edward and Lucas Coté, of Great Falls, MT; granddaughters Brianna and Andrea Rosin of Butte, MT; Felicia, Katlyn and Makenna Rosin, of Eastlake, OH.
