Doris Lorie MacNeeley, 84, Great Falls, Montana,  passed away peacefully of natural causes, May 31, 2019 at Peace Hospice in Great Falls, MT with her son Herb and daughter in law Elizabeth by her side. A graveside service with immediate family will be at the veteran’s cemetery at Fort Harrison in Helena, Montana, alongside her husband.

Memorials are suggested to be small donations to children’s hospitals of donor’s choice. Doris and her husband Herb were stout supporters of these so needed places.

Doris was born January 18, 1935, in Pottsville, Pa., she is preceded in death by her husband Herb, brothers  Bill and Tom and her sisters Shirley and Bertha Faye.

She married her childhood sweetheart Herbert Hoover MacNeeley in 1951 and they remained together lovingly until his passing in 2001. He was the love of her life until the end.

In 1954 she had her only child Herbert George MacNeeley. Doris held many jobs working hard but always said her most important work was helping with her nieces, raising her son, taking care of her husband and contributing to helping the community every chance she got. She was a great wife, mother and wonderful person in the eyes of all whose path she crossed. She loved music, dancing, gardening and especially socializing with friends.

Doris was involved in some capacity with many respectable organizations alongside her husband Herb including but not limited to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Amvets, Scottish Rite, Eastern Star and Ancient Egyptian Order of Sciots.

Survivors include her son Herbert George MacNeeley and daughter in law Elizabeth Hurley MacNeeley of Great Falls, MT. Grandson, Dylan MacNeeley and Great Granddaughter Trinity MacNeeley of Great Falls, Nieces; Shirley Roeller and Sharon Langness in Minnesota and Lorie Daubert Coorigan in Texas.

She had an infectious laugh, a heart of gold and a great sense of humor. She sang this to everyone up until the very  day she passed.  Zippity Doo Dah …… What a wonderful day!!!

May God Bless My Mom Doris.
