Dorothy D. (Johnston) George, 90, of Great Falls passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 23, 2017, with her family by her side. 

Dorothy was born in Great Falls on September 21, 1927, to Lloyd and Mabel Johnston.  She was raised in Great Falls where she spent most of her life. 

Dorothy married Ronald George on June 4, 1950, and together they raised four daughters: Teri, Barbara, Paulette and Ronda. She worked as a bookkeeper and office manager of Eddy’s Bakery for 24 years before retiring.  She was a good artist and excellent seamstress, enjoyed knitting and quilting and spent many years camping and fishing with her family.  After retiring, she and Ron moved to Lincoln, Montana where they lived for 17 years, returning to Great Falls in June of 2012.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ronald George; daughters, Teri (Michael) Aldridge of Missoula, MT, Barb (Galen) Bredeson of Great Falls, Paulette Peterson (Jay Hanseth) of Bainbridge Island, WA and Ronda (Jon) Smith of Macomb Township, MI; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a brother, Joe Johnston of Astoria, OR.  She is preceded in death by her sisters, Wilma Hill and Audrey Oberholz.

Services and celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2018, details to be announced at a later date.  The family would like to thank the staff of Benefis East for their loving and dedicated care over the last year.
