George "Mike" Blackbird

George “Mike” Blackbird, 72, of Great Falls, passed away August 2, 2019 due to a vehicle accident. Cremation has been entrusted to Croxford Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, August 24 at 11:00 AM at Highland Cemetery with a reception to follow.

Mike was born May 8, 1947 in Fort Belknap, MT to George and Dorothy (Azure) Blackbird. He attended schools in California and Wyoming. After graduation he joined the Marines and served during the Vietnam Era.

Mike is survived by sisters, Linda Blackbird Short, Candace Blackbird Hubbard, Cecilia Shortman; brothers, Donald Azure, Richard “Tito” Blackbird; sons Nathan and Carl; special friend, Arleta Hopkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Short, Connie Jo Blackbird, Gaileen No Runner; brother, Ernie Courchane.
