George E. McGreevy of Great Falls went to be with the lord on October 16 at the age of 78. George was born March 20, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to James McGreevy and Elizabeth McKay. A Graduate of Great Falls High School George was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. Upon his return George worked for the Great Northern Railroad in Great Falls and the Milwaukee Railroad in Superior. Along with his love for camping and fishing George loved to paint, it was his passion. He was especially interested in painting sawblades. He was a people person. George would always help anybody as much as he could, and some would say saved them when their life was full of turmoil. George had many friends and always wanted them to know he was there for them. A proud Christian, George loved Jesus and was an avid member of the Church of the Nazarene. George was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Mckay, and father, James McGreevy; sister, Alma; and brothers Jim and John. He will be remembered by his sister, Lolly Wahl; brothers, Wade McKay, Wayne McKay and Ward McKay; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Lynn Staigmiller, Cody Sutherland and Cherrie Kelly, and, of course, his two treasured puppies, Candy and Cookie.
