Harold Harland Johnson passed away at his home on July 31st, 2018 at the age of 91. A Memorial Service with reception will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 15th at Peace
Lutheran Church, 3340 11th Ave South in Great Falls.
He was born August 29th, 1926 in Homestead MT to Harold and Vinnie Johnson. Being totally deaf from a very young age, Harold’s family moved to Great Falls where he attended the Montana School for the Deaf and Blind. As a young man, Harold met and married the love of his life, Ruth Esther Fabry in 1955. He and Ruth recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Harold was a retired business owner. He and Ruth spent 40 years of their life as the owners and operators of Esquire Dry Cleaners, a prominent landmark on Central Avenue West. Harold had many interests, including hunting, camping, fly fishing, wood working, and 3D photography. He and Ruth enjoyed their retirement years with two RV trips to Alaska to fish the big waters and an overseas trip to explore London, England with family. He was an active member of the Great Falls Club of the Deaf and other associated deaf activity groups.
Harold is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Lisa Johnson Jackson; son, Lars Johnson; and grandson, Chris Jackson.
