Jack Allan Maxwell

May 31, 1945 ~ June 16, 2017 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Jack Allan Maxwell, 72, of Great Falls, passed away at his home on Friday, June 16, 2017.  Cremation has been entrusted to Croxford Funeral Home. A Memorial Gathering will be held Friday, June 23rd at 3:00 PM at their home at 160 Banjo Hill Lane.

Jack was born on May 31, 1945 in Langdon, ND to Phyllis and James Maxwell.  Raised in Concrete, ND, he received his GED, then served in the US Army from January 1963 to December 1968.  He married Luana Raguse in 1968 in Nashua, MN and they had two sons, Jim and Troy.

After his military service, Jack attended barber school in Fargo, ND, supplementing his income by bartending too.  Jack worked at Anaconda, General Mills, did construction with Bert Earl and John and Gary Wilson before starting his own landscaping business.  He was also a plant operator for Elk River Concrete.  In 1983, he purchased five acres of land north of Great Falls and built his home there.

Although work kept him very busy, he made time to serve as superintendent on the Homestead Acres Water Board.  He enjoyed gardening, barbecuing, camping, riding motorcycles, and black powder shooting. His family has fond memories of him cutting firewood in the mountains. He was a huge Nascar fan, enjoyed working on vehicles, and got great pleasure watching his sons playing ball.

Jack is survived by his wife, Luana; sons, Jim (Amy) and Troy (Jessica) of Spokane; brother, Dennis (Alfrieda) Maxwell of Cavalier, ND; uncle, Les (Zelda) Stevenson of Great Falls; grandchildren, Sarah, Bryan, Ruthanne, Danny, Jack and Julie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Hugh and Halla Maxwell and Milford and Mary Stevenson.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Veterans Association of America, Inc; 511 W 165th St #309, New York, NY 10032, or a charity of your choice.
