Joanne Selfridge

Our world became a better place on December 10th 1933 when Joanne Irene Pierce Rentmeister Selfridge was born in Lewistown, MT.

Joanne peacefully passed away on August 1, 2018, in the early morning hours.

She was a beautiful, wonderful woman who never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was always kind to everyone she met and when she met you; you were her friend forever.

Joanne was blessed with two sons, Michael John Rentmeister and Larry Ray Rentmeister.

Mike married Kathy in 1985 and they have a daughter Megan, who has a son, Aaron, and daughter Kara.

Larry married Betsy in 1980 and they have two son’s Josey and Jason. Jason is married to Jenna Rae Dalla Mura and they have a son, Haldon.

Her grandchildren were very important to her and she never missed an opportunity to be with them, have fun and share her stories with them. Since her great grandchildren came along she was head of heals in love with them and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible.

Joanne lived a full life and was fortunate to have lived all over the world. She graduated in Fairfield, MT then married Joe Rentmeister. She moved to Idaho with her mother and brother, Rocky while Joe was serving in the Air Force, After Idaho she and Joe lived in California, where Mike was born. They moved to England where Larry was born and then Japan. After divorcing Joe she married Don Selfridge and they lived in Maryland, Washington, New Orleans, Florida, New Mexico, and Nevada. After her divorce from Don in Reno, Joanne moved back to Great Falls to take care of her mother, Marie Pierce.

Joanne was always ready to spend time with her good friend, Terri Miller, and anyone else who wanted to have fun.

She was a member at the VFW Auxiliary, and would always volunteer to help with any fund raising to help our veterans.

Joanne will be greeted by her mother Anne Marie Salte Pierce, father John Ivor Pierce, her brothers Jack and Rocky Pierce, her former husbands, Joseph Ray Rentmeister, Don Selfridge and many other relatives and friends when she reaches the other side.

We will miss you, we love you mom, grandmother, great grandmother, and special friend.
