Joy Lorraine (Champagne) Bunton

Joy Lorraine Bunton, 81, of Great Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 27, 2018 surrounded by her family.  A Graveside Service will be held Tomorrow, Thursday, November 1 at 1:00 PM at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Great Falls.

Joy was born March 10, 1937 to John and Philomene Champagne in Box Elder, MT. In 1957, she met and married the love of her life Lester H. Bunton. Together they raised six children while living in Butte, Havre, and finally settling in Great Falls.

Along with taking care of her family, Joy mostly worked as a cook, as cooking was one of her favorite passions. She always showed her love for her family in the wonderful meals she prepared. She also loved to embroider, making beautiful sets of towels which will be cherished by her children. Her biggest pleasure though, was her grandchildren.

Joy is preceded in passing by her parents; by her husband Lester Bunton; and by her siblings, Clara, Olive, Patty, Karen, Cecelia, Georgie, Helen, John Jr., Raymond “JoJo”, Buddy, Walter, Buster, David “Tenus” and Gabe, who all welcome her home.

She is survived by her children, Jim (Bobbie) Bunton, Linda Golden, Jeannie (Joe) Garrity, Lester (Beth) Bunton Jr., Beverly Bunton and Buddy Bunton; 14 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
