Welcome to the memorial page for

Larry D. Lasher

June 3, 1958 ~ November 30, 2017 (age 59) 59 Years Old

Survived by wife Brenda Altenburg; daughter Maria Ford (Dan); son John Altenburg; daughters Brittney Capelette (Austin); Jassmine Altenburg (Logan); son Deven Altenburg-Lasher. Sister Bobbie Komotios (Ducky); brothers Ronnie Lasher; Kevin Fletcher (Michelle); Kelly Fletcher (Laurie); Mike Green. Cousins Lynn Sangrey and Clay Peterson. Eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Before getting sick, Larry was a journeyman painter. He would always talk about what buildings and houses he's painted. And was always so proud. Was also floor maintenance crew at Holiday Village Mall and Missouri River Manor, which he enjoyed doing.

Larry loved fishing, playing pool and dancing-he would get dressed up in his jeans and Tony Lama boots and dance the night away with mom. Watching football-forever a Raiders fan. Old western movies. He knew everything about all the sports.. Always trying to fix anything he could-whether it worked or not. Liked to play "doctor," always had his own first aid kit and would fix his kids and grandkids when they got hurt. Larry's face would light up whenever children and his grandchildren came over. He loved when the house was full of laughter and having them all home together. He also loved El Comedor tacos and his beer.

In the last five years, Larry battled and survived voice-box cancer, along with other injuries, and then completely having his voice-box removed. He was always a strong fighter. He passed away peacefully, in no pain, surrounded by his family on 11/30/17 at 6:53 A.M. at Hospice. He will be truly missed by children, grandchildren, family, friends and especially, the love of his life Brenda, who was always by his side during all the struggles that was handed to them.

RIP Larry, my love, best friend, husband, father, and grandpa.

His favorite quote was "Pain Don't Hurt," now he's pain free.. forever. God Bless You Always.
