Linda Sue Smith

Linda Sue Smith, 75, of Helena, passed away Friday, November 16, 2018, at Rosetta Assisted Living in Helena. A Funeral Service will be held at Croxford Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 21st, at 1:00 PM with Visitation starting one hour prior. Burial will take place at Manchester Cemetery following the Service.

Linda was born on May 22, 1943, in Hawthorne, CA, to Florence (Rogers) and Howard Dice. She graduated from the Wasatch Academy High School in Mt. Pleasant, UT, in 1961, going on to graduate from the Southern Methodist University Hospital School of Nursing in Dallas, TX, where she proudly earned a degree as Registered Nurse in 1964. Linda then worked as a nurse in Dallas, TX, and Missoula, MT, before finding her place in Great Falls where she spent 27 and a half years working with Deaconess/Benefis Hospital and the Rocky Mountain Treatment Center. In 1965 she married her first husband, Duane Petersen, in San Diego, CA. They remained together until 1992. In 1999 she fell in love and married Ray Smith in Coeur D’Alene, ID.

Linda enjoyed working in her beautiful yard, traveling, playing pinochle, reading, and caring for her patients. She loved spending time with her husband, raising their family, and helping friends. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.

Linda leaves behind her loving husband, Ray C. Smith of Great Falls; daughter, Molly Petersen (Michael Sangray) of Helena; son, Roger (Angel) Petersen and their four sons, Travis, Josh, Dawson, and Derek; stepsons, John (Debby) Smith, Ray (Linda) Smith, Brad Smith; stepdaughters Carla (Paul) Reneau, Helen Smith (Greg Munger).

In passing, she goes on to join her parents and brother, Steve Dice.
