Robert Clarence Peterson, “Pete”, 79, of Great Falls, passed away December 20, 2018 at Peace Hospice of natural causes. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 3:00 PM in The Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home with burial (with military honors) to follow at Highland Cemetery.
Pete was born on May 27, 1939 in Malta, MT to John and Marie (Hendrickson) Peterson. Raised in Auburn, WA, he graduated Auburn High School, going on to work in a local furniture store and his father’s garage. He later worked for Boeing, building aircrafts. He joined the Army in 1961, serving in Germany where he met and married the love of his life, Gabriele Hohmann. He finished his military career at Malmstrom Air Force Base working with NORAD-Command until retiring in 1981. Pete spent the next 18 years working for the U.S Postal Service.
Pete was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, sharing his hobbies like fishing, collecting old toys, and in the 1990’s Beanie Baby “hunting” with his daughter Amanda. When not enjoying his beloved family, he found time for his other passion, reading.
Survivors are wife, Gabriele of 51 years; daughter, Amanda (George) Carpenter; grandchildren, Jaxson Robert and Audrey Gabriella; cousins, Vivian Rambo, Marcella McEwen and their families.
He goes on to join his parents, John and Marie; brother, William (Bill); and infant daughter, Ann-Marie.
