Thelma Jane Letcher, 89, of Great Falls passed away Sunday, October 15 at Peace Hospice surrounded by family…

Thelma was born September 21, 1928 in Kellogg, ID to Mathias and Thelma Weingart.  The family moved back to Montana and settled in Great Falls. Her mother passed away when Thelma was only 10 years old. While in school she enjoyed playing basketball and softball. She was attending the Ursuline Academy when she fell in love with a boy in her neighborhood and in 1946 she married the love of her life, Victor Letcher; they remained together until his passing in 2001. She spent her time caring for children as an employee of the Great Falls School District and as a Homemaker raising six children.  Spending time with her family at their cabin on Clearwater River near Seeley Lake were her fondest memories.

Thelma is survived by her son, Michael (Cheryl) Letcher; daughters: Thelma (Dan) Korst, Becky (Geary) Alexander, Lori (Terry) Letcher of Great Falls, Wendy (Rick) Metzger of Belt, Victoria (John) Phillips of Arizona; sister, Joanne Knox of Tacoma, WA; brother, Mathias (Jo) Weingart of Great Falls; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons

Those who have preceded Thelma in death include her parents; sisters, Florentina (Tena) McKamey and Hilda (Bubby) Tognetti.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Peace Hospice for all that they have done. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to Peace Hospice.
