Allan "Jed" Clampitt

August 23, 1946 ~ September 6, 2015 (age 69) 69 Years Old

Allan “Jed” Don Clampitt, 69, of Great Falls, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by family on Sunday, September 6, 2015 of natural causes. On Saturday, September 12, 2015, a public visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Relief Society Room at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Great Falls East Stake Center in Great Falls, 1015 15th Ave S, with the Funeral Service to begin at 2:00 p.m. The burial with Military Honors will take place directly following service, at Highland Cemetery.

Allan was born on August 23, 1946 in Salt Lake City, UT to parents Berdina and Alvin Clampitt. After graduating high school, Jed went on to technical college, but would be drafted into the Air Force before he was able finish. He proudly serviced his nation for eight years. He entered back into civilian life where he happily worked as a civil servant in the HVAC industry as a technician for the remaining twenty years of his working career.

In 1970, Jed got married to the love of life, Jean Rule. From this blessed union they created a legacy, a son and two daughters into the world; three children that would become Jed’s proudest accomplishment as the love of his family meant more to him than life itself. Jed did enjoy some hobbies in his free time like hunting and fishing, machine work, mechanics, and the enjoyment he found in restoring his 1953 Ford pickup. He loved to attend the Great Falls Voyagers games- cheering on the players and sharing his love of the sport with his family.

He was an active member in his church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the High Priest Quorum. Jed led his life by the teachings of Christ; always going to where he was called to serve. In 2004, Jed and Jean were sealed for all eternity in the Billings Temple. Above all things, family came first. Jed was a proud father, a loving grandfather, and a devoted husband. To all who knew him, he will be sorely missed.

Allan is survived by his wife Jean; mother, Berdina Clampitt of Salt Lake City, UT; son, Joseph Clampitt of Great Falls; daughters, Ginny Dowdy of Great Falls and Angela Shelton of Washington state and sister, Roxanne Clampitt of Utah.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father Alvin, brother and sister and his grandson Jeffery Scott.
