Alvin Vern Wallace, 88, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on Oct. 31st, 2020 at a local nursing home. Private family services will be held at a later date and cremation has been entrusted to Croxford Funeral Home. Alvin will rest at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Fairfield, MT at a time of his family’s choosing.
Born on July 5th, 1932 in Great Falls, MT, Alvin was raised in the Denton & Fairfield areas. He attended Fairfield High School and joined the Air Force in 1951. Alvin served overseas during the Korean War with the 99th Field Maintenance Squadron. He received the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal for his service. After the war, he worked in Trucking and as an Auto Mechanic.
On June 20th, 1953, Alvin married Marie D. Kolste & they were married for 64 years. They had 2 sons, 2 daughters, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren & 2 great great grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren as well as working on his truck, playing cards, and bowling.
Alvin is preceded in death by his wife Marie “Tootie” Wallace, his brother Gary Wallace and his parents Vesper Wallace and Helen Simmons. He is survived by his brother, Loyd (Mary) Wallace, his children Roger Wallace, David Wallace, Lorraine Blanchet and Arlene Wallace, along with his grandchildren.
