Carol Joy Myhre Gunderson passed away on October 22nd, 2020 under the care of Benefis Senior Care Services. Services will be held on November 28th, 2020 @ 10AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Carol was born on December 18th, 1929 in Baker, MT, the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Zupanik) Myhre. Carol lived in Baker until the end of her 5th grade of school when her family moved to Helena, MT. In 1942, the family moved to Butte for 6 months and then to Puyallup, WA, where Carol graduated from Puyallup High School in 1947. She went on to attend the Tacoma General Hospital School of Nursing for one year, but due to illness she returned to Baker, MT.
After returning to Baker, Carol met Roy LaVern Gunderson and they were married on March 25th, 1949. The couple had three children, Bradley Leroy, Leondora Marie, and Conrad Calvin. Roy and Carol were later divorced.
Carol worked several years at the Green Acres Club and then took a job for the Federal Government. She was a federal employee for 27.5 years starting as a secretary and retiring as District 1 Loan Officer in Missoula, MT. Her government work took her to Fairfield, Choteau, Wolf Point, Bozeman, Helena and Missoula MT, where she retired in 1989 and later moved to Great Falls in 2005 until her passing.
Carol is survived by her sons Brad Gunderson of Great Falls, MT, Conrad (Nancy) Gunderson of Choteau, MT and Son in Law Lance Krone of Augusta, MT. She had 8 grandchildren, Rusty (Melissa) Gunderson of Helena, MT, Lorne (Tami)Krone of Augusta, MT, Sarah (Chad) Peterson of Cut Bank, MT, Logan Krone of Wolf Creek, MT, Shane(Lisa)Gunderson of Choteau, MT, Michelle (James) Daw of Murphy, OR, Lucas (Dawn) Gunderson of Choteau, MT, Hannah (Jason) Halverson of Selah, WA and 23 great grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by the father of her children, Roy L. Gunderson, her parents Clarence and Mary Myhre, a brother Leonard Myhre and daughter Lennie Krone.
