Charles Leroy Wombold

Charles “Chuck” Leroy Wombold, 84, of Great Falls, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018.  A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 6 at Croxford Funeral Home in the Rose Room Chapel at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery with Honors performed by the Army National Guard and VFW Post 1087.

Chuck was born on March 31, 1934 in Malta, MT to parents Christopher and Mary Wombold. After highschool, Chuck enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served for three and half years. After his service was complete, Chuck found life long employment with the city of Great Falls. After retiring from that, he continued working for an additional 17 years at the Great Falls Senior Center.

Chuck enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and camping as often as possible. In his later years, he found enjoyment playing pinnacle at the Senior Center as well as playing cribbage and 31 with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived in passing by his brothers, Lauren Wombold and Christy Wombold; children, Dave Wombold, Mike Wombold, Cheryl Monfette, Tammy Avery, John Wombold, Randy Wombold, Mary Henry, Jamie Wombold; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Wombold of 42 years; daughter, Janice Wombold; wife, Rhonda Wombold of 15 years; brother, James Wombold; parents, Mary Tiedman and Christopher Wombold.
