Clarence Hofland Obituary

Watch Live Here

Clarence (Bubba) Hofland was born Aug 24, 1963 in Shelby, MT, the youngest of 7 children born to James S. and Anna E. Hilling Hofland. He grew up in Kevin, MT and lived there until moving to Great Falls in 1975. He attended the Special Education Program at Skyline School, returning home on the weekends. He moved to a Quality Life Concepts group home in 1985 and began attending the day program a\t Easter Seals that same year.

Bubba was a man who loved to have a good time and have Rock-n-Roll parties. He was known to go thru a radio a week due to his rocking and rolling. Technology finally caught up with Bubba and he graduated to wireless headphones, and they would last about 2 weeks, so he was still rocking out hard. He enjoyed socializing with people and he never would forget you, because he remembered you by what color car you drove “white truck”, “red car” etc. If you tried to throw him off by driving something different, he would just ask “red truck?” or “silver car?”. He never would forget what your vehicle was or the color. If you met him once you knew him forever. Bubba loved to be sneaky and would give you a sly mischievous smirk when he was up to something, or at least planning the big Pepsi heist. So, you better watch your coffee or Pepsi. If there was a Pepsi in the house, he could smell it out and would find it, at times getting a chair or tongs to retrieve it from the staff hiding spot. Bubba was in Quality Life Concepts residential care for over 36 years. In all those years he made lots of friends who will miss him dearly. He also attended Easter Seals Day program and he will be greatly missed by them as well. Bubba was a caring and loving person who wanted to make sure everyone was OK and he has left a big hole in all of our hearts.

He is survived by his sister Lois Brockelman of Alberta, Canada, brothers James D. Hofland of Kevin, MT and Larry (Pat) Hofland of Anacortes, WA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jeanne Gorman and brothers Dave and Dale Hofland.
