Clarice Jean Jacobsen, 94, of Great Falls passed away June 24th, 2024 at Peace Hospice.
Clarice was born October 22, 1929 to Wallace and Alice Murdoch in Choteau, Montana. She was later raised in Sun River Valley. In her early years, Clarice attended Simms High School followed by her graduation in 1948. Shortly after, she met Ray Jacobsen and married that same year. Ray served in the U.S. Army while in Africa during 1941 to the end of World War II prior to their marriage. They were married for 50 years until Ray’s passing in 2001.
While Ray was outside tending to their ranch or delivering mail, Clarice was at home caring for her children. Her garden was a strong passion of hers. She would spend hours outside with her plants, making sure they grew with ease. Clarice also had a talent for all needle crafts. She could sew various clothing items and was a fantastic embroiderer. She would make her friends and family the most magnificent pieces.
Ray was extremely active in the rodeo scene. He spent many hours practicing and working towards his well-earned medals and awards. Clarice, being the supportive wife she was, would be at every show cheering him on. She thoroughly enjoyed watching the riders from the sidelines and was the loudest one in the crowd.
Clarice is preceded in death by her parents Warren and Alice Murdoch; and her Sons. Those who have survived her are her brothers Gary and Robert Murdoch, Sister Marylin Davis.
A Remembrance Service will be held for Clarice at Croxford Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 12PM. There will be a Reception to follow and a Graveside Service at 3PM in the Sun River Cemetery.
