David Russell Bring

January 1, 1963 ~ October 8, 2015 (age 52) 52 Years Old

David R. Bring, 52, of Great Falls, MT, passed away October 8, 2015, after a long, brave battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home in Great Falls.

Dave was born January 1, 1963 to Derril and Doris Bring in Grand Forks, ND. He graduated from Red River High School in 1981, and continued his education earning degrees at East Grand Forks AVTI for carpentry, Wahpeton, ND for refrigeration, and later at Great Falls School of Technology as a CAD designer.

Dave always believed in working hard, even as a child. He began by mowing lawns, fixing up bikes, then moved to working on vehicles to re-sell. He even helped his grandpa shingle his barn and house. Dave worked at a variety of jobs including Red Owl, ServiceMaster, and building the arena for Weefest in Detroit Lakes, MN. In 1984 he moved to Boston for a construction contract job doing hardwood flooring work for the Air Force Bases. That job provided him with the opportunity for a transfer to Great Falls, MT.

In Great Falls, he continued his hobby of fixing up vehicles, working in construction, hardwood floor refinishing, and structural steel designs. He worked with Anderson Steel, Quality Plumbing & Heating, and he finished his career with Energy West as a Journeyman Pipefitter in December 2013 when cancer kept him from working any longer.

The biggest joys in Dave’s life were spending time with his family, going camping, fishing, and hunting. He taught his children to work hard, then it’s time to have fun. Friends and family loved his famous smoked fish, and he enjoyed treating everyone with his master BBQ skills. He also loved excursions out on his Harley.

Dave is survived by his children Se’Anna, Travis, and Nathan Bring all of Great Falls; his parents Derril and Doris Bring of Grand Forks; brothers Randy (Paula) Bring of Thompson, ND; Darwin (Michele) Bring of Bismarck, ND; nieces and nephews Nicole, Tyler, Josh, Maddy, and Chase; and godparents, Lowell and Muriel Bring.

He is proceeded in death by his grandparents Olaf and Mamie Evenson; Gust and Louise Bring; uncle Wesley Bring and aunt Marlene Rutherford.
