David Joseph Anderson was born to Oscar and Genevieve Anderson on June 9, 1949 in Great Falls, MT. He lived on the family ranch near Sage Creek with his 8 siblings, and attended Stanford Public School until he graduated in 1967. Shortly thereafter, he was drafted and served his country in Vietnam from 1969-1970.
David married Julie Turner on December 6, 1975 and they had two children together, Kaycee and Cody. He also had two grandsons, Rydell and Grady, who he completely and utterly adored.
David worked for the Judith Basin County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy and as a Montana State Livestock Inspector prior to a medical retirement.
David was a cowboy, through and through. He was happiest on the back of a horse, and always said he was born 100 years too late. David was often heard repeating his favorite quote by Winston Churchill, “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.”
David passed away peacefully on November 3, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Kaycee (Rob) Beall; his son, Cody Anderson; his grandsons, Rydell and Grady Beall; and his siblings.
The family would like to thank the amazing caregivers at the Beehive, Park Place Care Center, Spectrum Home Health, Nightingale Home Health, and the VA Clinic for the excellent, compassionate care they gave David.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 10 at 3 PM at Croxford Funeral Home. An informal reception will follow at the Sting Sports Bar Upstairs for cowboy stories (true or otherwise) to be told. Condolences for the family may be shared a www.croxfordfuneralhome.com.
