Doris Lee (Ervin) Ruff, 85 of Great Falls, passed away February 4, 2015 of natural causes. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 10th at 11:00am in the Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home. Visitation will be open to family and friends for one hour prior to the funeral. Burial at Manchester Cemetery will immediately follow the funeral.

Doris was born May 15, 1929 in Wamego, Kansas. Her family moved to Great Falls in her senior year and she graduated from Great Falls High in 1947. In 1949 she met George Ruff and they were married just a few months later on October 1st. They shared 64 years before his passing on March 1, 2014. Doris raised their family before returning to working fulltime. She then spent 18 years with National Laundry, and went on to work at K-Mart for five years before retiring.

Doris loved canning fresh fruits and vegetables for her family. After working all day she would be in the kitchen canning, often till after midnight. She enjoyed teaching this hobby to her daughters. She also loved to crochet doilies and doll clothes, and enjoyed fishing and camping at Holter Lake and Lincoln. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Survivors include daughters, Beverly (Jerry) Pothe, Kathy (Jerry) Mann, all of Great Falls; sons, Robert (Suzanne) Ruff of Lincoln and John (Wendy) Ruff of Great Falls; grandchildren, Geri (Pat) Darko of Sand Coulee and John Mann of Great Falls; great-grandchildren, Kaci and Karson Darko of Sand Coulee; special friends, Doreen Lama and Bob Evans of Medicine Hat, Alberta.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert A and Hazel I Ervin, and a sister, Dorothy Francetich.
