Dr. Elmer Davis passed away Monday January 25 2021 of natural causes. Elmer, a native of Topeka, KS, was born to Lynn Alton Davis and Sarah Davis on January 19, 1933. He graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in feed technology in 1956. He then served three years with the Air Force, including 1 ½ years as a navigator at Malmstrom AFB. He met Doris Jean Dehon and they were married on April 20 1958, before returning to the Kansas State University to continue his education. He received his Master of Science degree in animal nutrition in 1962 and completed his work for his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in May of 1964. He then purchased Central West Animal Clinic where he practiced for more than 40 years before retiring. After selling his practice, he worked at Skyline Veterinary Clinic for 14 years.
Elmer was an honored member of the Montana Veterinary Medical Association.
During his lifetime, he served his community as a Board Member of the Great Falls Pre-Release Center, Great Falls School Board, Westside Kiwanis Club, founding member of Valley Community Bible Church, and a member of Community Bible Chapel in Stockett, MT.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; brother Alton Davis and his daughter, Tammy Barker.
He is survived by his wife Doris Davis, son Ford Davis and daughter Kim Kruger.
