Edith Fryberger

April 16, 1930 ~ December 26, 2014 (age 84) 84 Years Old

On December 26, 2014, 84 year old Edith Rushton Fryberger, in her home in Vaughn, graduated from her earthly life to join those on the other side of the veil for a time of further learning and celebrating. Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 30th at 2:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sun River. Visitation will be available for one hour prior to the service. Burial at Sun River Cemetery will immediately follow the funeral.

Edith was born on April 16, 1930 as the 16th child of 17 belonging to Frederick and Mable Lydia Rushton in Abraham, UT. She was very proud of her family and heritage. She loved being a part of the huge family and enjoyed celebrating with them every two years at family reunions.

She met Robert E. Fryberger during her junior year as he was herding horses during a snow storm through her parents’ place in Glasgow, Montana. Later that summer, before her senior year, they discovered they would like to be a family. They were married on October 12, 1947 in Glasgow.

She was a good mother and wife as they traveled the road of a civil servant working and advancing for the Department of Defense. The family spent time in Washington, Oregon, Utah and at last moved back to Montana in 1965. Edith was a great supporter of her extended family. She spent time as a waitress, child care attendant, and working as a stocker for the Vaughn Depot. Her real talent, however, was in her quilting, which she developed after her children left home. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different positions. During her senior years she cared for her mother, Robert’s father, and then cared for her husband when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer ’s disease in 1996.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert Earl Fryberger. Survivors include her children, Kathy (Clarence) Coleman, Rebecca Foster, James (Pamela) Fryberger, Rushton (Sherry) Fryberger and Diana (Dale) Busby. She had 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Ned Rushton; two sisters-in-law, Maudine and Renee Rushton; baby sister, Mary Inman; brother-in-law, Leon Inman; as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be missed by all.
